Guinea Pig Appreciation Day coincided with PACE (Parent and Child Enrichment, a CFRC program: Community Family Resource Center) so families were celebrating our library pets named Oreo and Miss Maple.
We got our new pets right before spring. Oreo was already named. Miss Maple was the winning name on a ballot of names submitted by patrons.
This picture is great because these girls colored the guinea pigs in the same colors as Miss Maple and Oreo!
School superintendent Kellie Bohn was our guest cook. She made pancakes with maple syrup for families to enjoy. These were in honor of MISS MAPLE! Families also received Oreo cookies in honor of OREO!
We gathered around Oreo and Miss Maple. Miss Tammy led us in “Happy birthday”. It was fun as we made this day their unofficial joint birthday!
One of the crafts was to make birthday cakes,,,adorable!
We played with the bubble maker in the sideyard!
It was a super fun day! You are invited to read more about it by scrolling down to LIBRARY STARS at the bottom of the home page.
