Library star, Ben Chan

One of our library stars is Ben Chan. He had a winning streak on the game show JEOPARDY and he lives and teaches in our region. 

We reached out to him to ask if he could help us out with our BUILD A BETTER LIBRARY fundraiser on November 8, 2025. Instead of being a contestant on a game show we floated the idea of him being the game show HOST. Also, the game was not Jeopardy but “Seymour-style” Family Feud. Ben was fantastic to say “yes” to this invite!!!!

He went way above and beyond by helping us out in several ways. 

• He was willing to have a “teaser” made featuring him for FB, Instagram, and YouTube. We filmed that on a Friday afternoon.
• He was willing to be interviewed on Local 5 Live. This was done on a Thursday morning.
• He came to the library to rehearse the game on the same day.
• He arrived at the event on the Saturday and was a natural—not only at being the host but by meeting people and checking out the workspace activities.
• The kind of team spirit he embodies is evident here! He is wearing a Seymour Thunder sweatshirt!

Thank you so much Ben. Having your brilliance and genuine kind spirit as a part of our educational day was simply the best!
