As so happens in small libraries like ours, sometimes our patrons are our actual neighbors! This is the case with Virginia who lives across the street from the library.
Virginia is a wonderful, kind, and upbeat lady. She does outreach to a facility where she reads to the residents. She also shares books with the residents so that they can read them to her.
She decides her theme for her visit and let’s us know what that will be, in advance. Then we gather books for her (on the theme) to assess and try out with the residents.
Virginia knew about our strong children’s collections of books at this location and she was browsing one day when she learned that we are happy to do the legwork (our job!) and get books together for her!
In fact, we are glad to do collecting for any educators or people doing outreach, or kids doing research or whatnot! We are here for you and we are happy to help! It is what we are trained to do!
