Our LIBRARY STAR is BEN CHAN!
You may know him from his exciting run on Jeopardy. We invited him to switch roles from CONTESTANT to GAME SHOW HOST. And the game was FAMILY FEUD SEYMOUR STYLE. He agreed. And he did a FANTASTIC job.
The game was a part of the fundraiser, BUILD A BETTER LIBRARY, which was held at the Seymour School District. At the high school we were allowed to use the auditorium for the game and the commons for our workspace community fair, bakery sale, chili sale, 42 bucket raffle baskets, and Seroogy’s/Grinch tree raffle.
In all cases, the talents of the Seymour community were highlighted. Further, what better way to equate our capital campaign with brains than to have Ben Chan helping us, the brainiest of all. And there are all kinds of intelligences, we are all intelligent in a myriad of ways. That is what our Workspace at the event was showcasing!
The community workspaces were Stained Glass by Kris Peters, Ukelele by Mark Naze, Photography by Lamont Kraft, Nature Crafts by Mary Roerig, Musical Instruments by John Steltz, Legos from the Library (on loan from Green Bay Children’s Museum), Magnatiles from the Library, Jewelry by Susan Luckey, Yarn art at the library by Cindy Borgen, Green Screen by Colette Bezio, Growing Pumpkins by Kaarina Menting, Local authors Susan Manzke & Doris Bezio, Firefighting by Jason Finn, Brian Treml, and Jason Smith, Poetry writing by Shari Liesch and led by Jill Lipp, Drones by Matt Brugger of Tilth Agronomy, Life as a Foreign Exchange student with Tilde from Denmark and Andrea from Spain, The World of Sewing by Ann Staeven, Laser-Engraved Leather bookmarks by Seymour High Tech Ed students and led by Staci Sievert, and Craft Corner by Sandy Heiden.
Thank you all for shining on the day. We cannot wait until we have extra space at the library to feature YOU there!
