We just added a brand new book to our library about Dolly Parton and it was a good reminder of all the great work she has done to promote literacy! She started her IMAGINATION LIBRARY in 1995.
With leadership from Empowered Tutoring, the 54165 zip code became eligible for Dolly’s program. Children are signed up and get free books delivered to their homes.
I am impressed with the quality of children’s literature that is distributed! I have found out about new titles from watching the lists of books in this program. Hooray!
A patron whose grandchild is in the program showed me this fabulous video that Dolly Parton made for children. (25 seconds)
More coolness about Dolly!
To the left, the ALA READ poster of Dolly Parton where she is holding THE LITTLE ENGINE THAT COULD by Watty Piper and THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR by Eric Carle.

A very cool audiobook of her life. She reads her own work and sings, also!
