Story quilting program by Shari Liesch

Shari instructing about quilting

We are so blessed to have Shari Liesch lead programming at our library in the spring and in the fall annually. On November 12, 2025,  she led a fabulous program about story quilting. She puts her “all” into her presentations with lots of research and creative thought processes. We had hands-on learning at this workshop as she brought in her own quilts and showed us how she designed them and made them. It was a wonderful evening!

Shari is helping us out immensely as we enter 2026! In 2026, we will be celebrating that we have had libraries in Seymour for 125 years! And we are excited about the future of our library, too!

Our ambitious goal is to collect 125 poems about the library! The quilt is a way to generate interest and enthusiasm for the project because within the quilt are images of the different libraries in Seymour.

Shari points out pictures of Seymour libraries in her quilt.

Here are three slides from Shari’s presentation to give you a taste of how thorough and comprehensive her talks her.

This librarian LOVES that she always mentions book sources!

Wonderful job, Shari!!
